Shop Policies

For the safety of the dogs in our care I ask that you observe the following:

  • The Rabies Certificate is required for the first visit and as updated. Either a physical copy from vet will do or a picture of the up to date records on your phone.

  • Please have your pet on a leash or in a carrier.

  • You are more than welcome to stay and wait in the lobby while I groom your pet, however I do ask that you refrain from talking or making motions to your pet during his/her grooming session. This will distract your pet and not make it a calming experience as they will want to leave and go to you.

  • I try to maintain 1 dog at a time in the lobby, if you happen to enter and see one of our furry clients please be sure to ask before greeting someone else's dog, we all love dogs but not all dogs are comfortable with the way we show affection.

Grooming Policies

Your pet's health and wellbeing come first 100% of the time.

It is HIGHLY recommended a puppies first groom does not involve a major haircut. Grooming is very loud and strange to a pup. I want to ease them in carefully. I usually suggest a bath and tidy for their first groom.

Dematting

I DO NOT dematt pets. This causes unnecessary stress to your pet, physically and mentally. Imagine getting dreadlocks yanked all over your body!  I can show any owner how to properly brush and comb their pet.

I will dematt small areas on the body (ex: ears, tail, face.) as long as they are not to matted. I perform an examination of your pet when you first drop off and will feel their coat and tell you my assessment if i will be able to demat areas.

Health Issues

As pets reach a certain age, they are prone to more medical problems, arthritis, behavior problems due to sore and ackey.  If your pet has any known medical conditions (ex: seizures not on any medication, bad arthritis where its painful to move pet around, extreme heart murmur, heart failure. etc) i cannot perform a full groom/ bath. Your pets safety is my #1 priority, and these conditions should not be having any added stress onto them.

Cancellations/ No show

I would greatly appreciate any cancellations be made at least 48 hours before your scheduled appointment time.  I understand that things happen at the last minute that may prevent you from making it to your appointment. Please feel free to call me to re-schedule or cancel any appointment. Appointments canceled less than 48 hours before the scheduled time may incur a cancellation fee of $25.00. No-shows will incur a fee up to 50% of the appointment cost. 3 no shows will result in no longer able to book services.

Late Drop off/ Pick up

Please call or text if you know that you are going to be late to pick up/ drop off. I will do everything we can to still be able to give you the service you have booked, however if you are more than 15 minutes late I may not be able to complete your service and still be on time for our next Pet. If so I will need to reschedule your appointment and it will be considered a late-cancel and subject to cancellation fees. If you are more than 20 minutes late to pick up a $25 fee will be added to service and due at time of pickup.

At Hazel & Cleo we accept cash, and all major credit cards. Payment is expected at the end of service.
